The Model 250
Woodsman
Buzz Saw
(Commonly Referred to as
a Buzz Saw or Buck Saw).
One thing to remember about a Buzz Saw is that
because of the size and nature of the Buzz Saw
Blade, it is capable if used incorrectly of
inflicting serious injury or death.
Children should be nowhere near
a Buzz Saw.
Choosing a Safe spot to set the Buzz Saw
Down and Use is very important.
The spot chosen to use your Buzz Saw
should be flat-Level Ground with nothing around
that can trip you into the Buzz Saw.
You should never run a Buzz Saw on
Unstable or slippery Ground.
You should never run your Buzz Saw in
the Mud.
You should never Run your Buzz Saw on
Ice.
It just is not worth slipping and falling into
the Buzz Saw and Losing a Arm or Hand or
your Life.
Buzz Saws if used correctly can safely
and efficiently save you a lot of
time cutting up smaller wood.
Buzz Saws are not meant for larger wood...
Besides who would want to pick up
a heavy log anyway.
Please consider safety as
the most important thing to remember when
working around a Buzz Saw.
Remember:
an ounce of prevention and safety is worth more than any amount of
cure....Be Careful
While every effort has been made
to our understanding to make this Buzz Saw as safe as possible, bear in
mind that this is still a very dangerous
piece of equipment and is capable of inflicting (and quickly) very
severe injury or death...Please do not
assume anything, if you have questions ask...And Please use extreme
caution when working around
this Buzz Saw.....an ounce of prevention and safety is worth more than
any amount of cure....Be Careful
Children should be nowhere near
a Buzz Saw.
Remember:
an ounce of prevention and safety is worth more than any amount of
cure....Be Careful

Model 250
3-Point Hitch
Woodsman Buzz Saw
Commonly Referred to as a
Buzz Saw or Buck Saw.
Officially Known
As A
Cordwood Saw
The sight of these Buzz Saws brings back a lot of Memories from many
Childhoods
Of Course the older Buzz Saws ran off a long flat belt and most had no
shields, so they
were even more dangerous than the modern
Buzz Saw
versions.
These More Modern Buzz Saws are now Mounted by 3-Point Hitch onto the
Back of a smaller farm tractor and run of a 540 RPM PTO
This Buzz Saw uses a Standard Telescoping PTO Shaft.
The 3-Point Hitch Pins on this Buzz Saw are Category 1
If your tractor uses a different Pin Size, you can easily replace
the pins on this Buzz Saw by removing the nut holding the pins in
place and installing your size.
Different size pins for this Buzz Saw are available at most farm stores
and Farm Equipment Dealers.
The Tray on the right side of the Buzz Saw above moves into the blade
after you set the piece of wood you want to cut onto it.
You should have both hands firmly on the piece of wood (back away from
the blade)
while you push the table and the wood in a Light, But firm steady manor
into the blade,
cutting off the wood. Use only light pressure on the Buzz Saw
Tray and Wood.
The Buzz saw is designed to have the wood drop off when cut.
If the wood cannot Freely drop off the Buzz Saw it is apt to Bind up.
Be sure nothing is in the way of letting wood drop off your Buzz Saw.
The Buzz Saw uses a 29-7/8" Diameter Blade that is held
in Place by a large nut.
Replacement Buzz Saw Blades are available.
One of the Major Benifits of a Buzz Saw is that the Blade tends
to stay sharp a very long time.
We Know of Folks who sell Cordwood with their Buzz Saw and
have gone as long as 3 years between sharpenings.
This is amazing considering the hundreds and hundreds of cords of wood
they cut with their Buzz Saw.
The cleaner the wood the longer your Buzz Saw Blade will stay Sharp.
Most Folks go around 20 years before they replace their Buzz Saw Blade.
There are 2) 5/8" belts that drive the Buzz Saw from the big pulley on
the gearbox to the smaller pulley on the Buzz Saw Blade Shaft.
This Change in Pulley size is how the Buzz Saw gets its Blade Speed
up from 540 pto RPM to around 1300 Blade RPM.
These Buzz Saws do Buzz some.
The Belt Tension of this Buzz saw is Quckly and easily Adjusted, much
like
a chainsaw chain is tightened on a chainsaw.
Buzz Saw Belt Life Has Been good with many Belts
getting old and cracked and being replaced more for old age
than anything else
This Buzz Saw uses Belts that are readily available at most auto parts
stores
If you live east of the Mississippi River, we ship Buzz Saws to you by
Truck Pre-Assembled on a Skid.
If you live out west, we ship the Buzz Saw in a Box Unassembled.
We have an Online Assembly Manual that we made to help you correctly
and safely assemble your new Buzz Saw.
If you live close enough to drive over, you can see and Pick Up a Buzz
Saw
at our New Haven Vt Store Location.
Please call ahead to make sure we have not run out of Buzz Saws.

an ounce of prevention and safety is worth more than any amount of
